Group Introduction

Top Education Group Ltd, trading since 2019 as the Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce (formerly Top Education Institute), is one of Australia’s leading private tertiary education providers. With campuses located in major cities across Australia, namely Sydney, Perth and Hobart, TOP offers tertiary education within the three core schools of Business, Law and IT.

Founded in 2001, TOP was first granted registration as a higher education institute in 2009 and has been listed on the Tertiary Education Quality Standards Authority (TEQSA) National Register as a higher education provider since 2012. In 2015, TEQSA also granted TOP registration on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) for the maximum allowed period of five years without conditions, which was then renewed in 2021 for the maximum allowed period of seven years. In 2018, TOP was approved as a Self-Accrediting Authority by TEQSA in the Broad Field of Education of Management and Commerce, covering both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Its accounting courses have been accredited by professional bodies such as CPA Australia, CAANZ, IPA, and ACCA. The Qualifications of degree courses from TOP are recognised internationally, including by the Chinese Service Centre for Scholarly Exchange (CSCSE).

In 2015, TOP founded the first Law School within a private higher education institute where both TEQSA and NSW LPAB officially accredited its Bachelor of Laws to enable its graduates to apply for admission as professional lawyers.  In October 2022, Master of Data Analytics, which is TOP’s very first course in one of the most demanding field, Information Technology, was accredited by TEQSA for seven years.

Since the listing, TOP has been focused on organic self-growth as well as diversifying its business through development and M&A activities. In 2019 TOP expanded its business portfolio into the English training market by acquiring Scots English College, a Sydney-based ELICOS provider. 2019 also saw the opening of TOP’s very first interstate campus in Hobart, which caters largely to postgraduate students. TOP further established another interstate campus in Perth during 2022, which is also a desirable study location for international students. In October 2022, the Master of Data Analytics, TOP’s very first course in the high demand fields of Information Technology, was accredited by TEQSA for seven years.

TOP is dedicated to the strategy of “Innovation towards Intelligent Education”. Since 2019, various innovative courses have been developed through embedding digitization elements into existing and new courses, including Master of Accounting Intelligence, MBA covering streams as FinTech Management, Business Analytics and Digital Business Application, Master of Applied Financial Technology and Blockchain and Master of Data Analytics. Under this strategy, the upgrading of the Sydney campus was completed in 2020. This campus is designed with cutting-edge facilities and digital technologies to lead an innovative pattern of education. Currently, a blended learning education system is being developed, as TOP believes this will become the core course delivery model post-pandemic. Such systems combine both online and in-class learning environments, providing long term benefits to not only students but also staff and TOP holistically.

Since its inception, TOP has educated over 10,000 students hailing from more than 40 countries worldwide. It has established relationships with over 300 student agencies and signed over 10 MOUs with universities and the industry. As part of its commitment to students, TOP now offers more than 40 courses across three fields of education in Business, Law and Information Technology, as well as the Career Edge program to enhance students’ employability. 92.4% of participants in this program were able to gain work opportunities within three months after graduation. In 2021, TOP received funding from the Commonwealth Grant Scheme to deliver cutting-edge short courses to domestic students as well as a grant from the Innovation Fund to enable Scots English College to diversify educational offerings into online and offshore delivery.

While meeting the challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, TOP remains committed to be a leading innovative and high-quality education provider internationally, and to deliver students with knowledge of practical skills required by the everchanging market. TOP is working with the VIRTUAL INTERNSHIPS to provide our students an intelligent platform to discover remote work experience opportunities at the world’s most exciting companies and unlock a global network of relationships.

Ultimately, the Students and their experience lies at the center of TOP’s decision making. Students are especially supported by the Communication, Monitoring, Resource, and Feedback approaches (“CMRF Model”) applied, helping them adapt to the new environment and continue their study during and post COVID-19. This is also reflected in the abundance of positive feedback from students themselves.
